The Beauty of Your Kitchen: 3 Ways to Display Wooden Utensils + A Giveaway | Solange & Frances

The Beauty of Your Kitchen: 3 Ways to Display Wooden Utensils

Wooden utensils, with their natural beauty and practicality, bring warmth and character to any kitchen. Their versatility for both cooking and display empowers you to showcase them as part of your kitchen decor. Here are three creative ways to display your wooden utensils that will enhance the beauty of your kitchen while keeping your favorite tools within easy reach.

1. Rustic Wall Art

Transform your wooden spoons and spatulas into a stunning piece of wall art. Select a variety of shapes and sizes to create visual interest. Arrange them in a pleasing pattern on a reclaimed wood board. This method displays your utensils beautifully and adds a touch of rustic charm to your kitchen walls. Consider grouping spoons with similar handle lengths or creating a fan-like pattern for an eye-catching display. The natural variations in wood grain and color will create a unique, functional, and decorative display that will surely catch the eye.

2. Countertop Bouquet

Create a charming "bouquet" of wooden utensils on your countertop using a vintage pitcher or urn. Choose a container that complements your kitchen's style, a blue and white ceramic pitcher for a country feel, a sleek stainless steel canister for a modern look, or an antique silver-plated vessel for a touch of elegance. Arrange your wooden spoons, spatulas, and other tools with the handles down, allowing the various shapes of the utensil end to create an exciting silhouette. This display method keeps your tools easily accessible while adding a decorative element to your counter space.

3. Open Shelf Arrangement

If your kitchen has open shelving, use it to showcase your wooden utensil collection. Arrange your tools in vintage mason jars or clear glass canisters, grouping them by type or size. Intersperse these containers among your dishes, cookbooks, and other kitchen items for a curated collected look.

This method allows you to appreciate the beauty of your wooden utensils while keeping them organized and within reach. For added visual interest, include a few standout pieces, like a uniquely shaped stirring spoon or a hand-carved ladle, as individual display items on the shelves.

When displaying your wooden utensils, consider the following tips to enhance their beauty and longevity:

  • It's essential to clean and oil your wooden utensils regularly to maintain their luster and prevent drying or cracking. This simple maintenance routine will ensure the longevity of your utensils and keep them looking their best.
  • Rotate your displayed utensils periodically, bringing frequently used items to the forefront and giving less-used pieces a chance to shine.
  • Incorporate other natural elements, like potted herbs or a small indoor plant, to complement the organic feel of the wooden utensils.

By creatively displaying your wooden utensils, you not only enhance the beauty of your kitchen but also celebrate the craftsmanship and warmth these tools bring to your cooking space. Whether you create wall art, a countertop bouquet, or an open shelf arrangement, your wooden utensils will become a focal point reflecting your personal style and love for cooking. Embrace the natural beauty of these kitchen essentials and let them inspire you every time you step into your kitchen to create your next culinary masterpiece.

Well I like to display our wooden spoons in large open containers such as ceramic or metal jars 🫙 then, I’ll pretty much set it right beside our stove for easy usage! I think it’s one of the most practical ways to display such beautiful pieces as well as incorporating into our everyday life. I’ve also notice this his how Paula Dean show cases her wooden spoon collection on her cooking channel, someday I’ll have as much as she does! 🥄👩‍🍳
